Great Album - Deceptive Title - Wide Range of Music

"This is a great album from Colin but has a very deceptive title. Do not get this album expecting a Johnny Cash celebration - It is far far better than that with a range of music covering everything including Hank Williams, yes, Cash, Jim Reeves, Johnny Preston and more! The most notable observation is that Colin will sing Johnny Cash songs and those of other artists such as Jim Reeves but he sings it with his voice and his arrangement - this is not a album of soundalike tribute songs and that makes it very listenable and enjoyable. The musical arrangement and quality of recording is, as always with Colin's work, top notch and has a stripped back superbly natural sound. Colin's voice has a quality of the likes of Eddie Cochran and Elvis and produces some interesting tracks such as Summertime Blues which has the country arrangement of recent reworks by likes of Alan Jackson but the vocal has the freshness of an Eddie Cochranesque (if that's a real word!) delivery - superb ! Overall a great album which if I had to classify it , I would describe it as 50's 60's country pop rock'n'roll. It covers a lot of ground!" Keith Payne - 20 November 2017
