A sound that gently encouraging you to dance. And a feel amazingly providing an authentic rockin'
"Old-fashioned Rock'n'Roll and Rockabilly music by the Mee Kats is presented here in the form of five impressive self-penned compositions and nine splendid cover versions, made with respect to the original songs and with a touch of the band's own perception. "Rocket Trip" is generally quite confident in tone, with a jolly mood, somewhat amusing, and with a cheery singing. However, a lot is devoted to lyrics and sentimental feelings in one sense or another. But always about lovely pace, likeable vocals and top-notch accompaniment. All in one - musicianship, style, fun. Good old Rock'n'Roll with a lot of Rockabilly emphasis on it. Just ideal for a trip or ride. Or even great for recuperating in your room! About the presence of cover songs - indeed, why not add some very tasteful and artful covers of your favorites to the very good own songwriting. It's not that bad. Maybe previous releases were much more furious (in a way), but this one is fully fueled by and filled with gentle tastiness and fashionable dignity. All is not as droll and sonorous as it was in "All Dressed Up". Not so neon, leisurely and relaxed as "Let's Go Boppin" was. And not so rusty and bristly like "Everybody's Rockin'". So, this is not only a boppin' album, but a rockin' too. Pretty danceable. Decently delicious. And even amazing one. Sound vibe itself - very warm and harmonious. Considering the album art - there is also something weightless, and also in an old fashioned way "charming" and "stargazing"..." smed28 - 31 December 2021
